While my brother Jesse and Jessica’s sister Amanda are visiting for Christmas, the boys go for some adventure in snow on lava.
While the ladies did some shopping and visiting over the Christmas holiday, my brother Jesse and I took the boys for some adventure in the Oregon desert.
It looked like we would be the only ones at Jordan Craters today.
We tried to drive up the cone but the Jeep wouldn’t make it. The kids enjoyed the attempt.
It wasn’t too cold but the wind was unrelenting. It was good that we’d stopped to buy all the kids new gloves and hats.
The miles of broken lava can be hazardous enough without snow to hide the dangers. We cautioned the boys against running aimlessly.
The boys were excited to find their first collapsed lava tube.
We expected him to slide down but instead he sent himself tumbling.
A required path when visiting Coffeepot Crater.
It would be a several story fall.
