My daughter Laura rides along on the XR 650L while we seek the elusive southern route from Aldape to Lucky Peak. We also try to make our way to an old mine I once encountered near Highway 21.
I had been wanting to find a way onto the eastern foothills trails since the roads I used to take were blocked off. Today Laura and I found a way.
Excitement for pictures from a new vantage point was dispelled by heavy summer haze.
“No discharging of firearms within, across, or into posted area.” This reminds me of playing games like tag as a kid and having a spot that was “base.” I guess if someone is shooting at you, this area is base.
My daughter in her helmet of choice. Gates kept us from Lucky Peak itself so we found a road to turn back toward Boise.
We were searching for a mine I once encountered over here. I think it must now be on the other side of “No Motor Vehicles” signs.
Table Rock is hardly recognizable from the backside, not to mention the shroud of haze. In spite of the bad air it was fun to ride with my daughter, fun to see things from a new perspective.
