If I get a snow day then Brenna does too. Roads too slippery for commuting give us a day to see the neighborhood recast in white.
My little commuter car doesn’t get around very well in the snow but the challenge is fun. It reminds me of the silver Celica I had in high school which I also enjoyed taking out in the snow.
Since I can’t make it into work, I’ve extracted Brenna from daycare for some snow fun. Adventure loves company. We’ve stopped first for hot drinks at nearby Bown Crossing.
Now that our bellies are warm, we’re taking the sidewalk over to the river.
The most exciting thing about snow, to Brenna, is that she can throw it at me.
The Wood Duck creek along the East Parkcenter Bridge was re-aligned as the bridge was being built. I guess it’ll be another few years before it looks natural again.
I hefted and she hewed. What better place for a snowman than in a tree?
Brenna outfitted the snowman with its hair and appendages.
Brenna has begun to whimper about cold toes. I guess that signals the end of the snow adventure.
We trudge a block back to the car, chilled but pleased to have reveled in fresh fallen snow.
